This web site tells my story about how I used what is known as a Fecal Transplant along with a combination of drugs to CURE, like I said cure my case of Ulcerative Colitis that I had starting in July 1999 just before coming back from traveling abroad. I came within three days of scheduled surgery in March 2011, a full colostomy with restorative proctolectomy (also known as a J pouch). I thought I was kissing my life as a single bachelor good bye.
I found out about an alternative known by several different names including Fecal Transplant, Fecal Bacterialtherapy, Fecal Enema and Human Pro biotic infusion. The idea is that if you transfer the bacteria from someone with healthy bowels into someone with Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn’s Disease that you can cure the underlying infection for the disease. My colorectual surgeon and Gastroenterologist both thought I was crazy but I was determined and I made it happen. I am grateful for the advice of some supportive doctors including Dr. Colleen Kelly in Rhode Island, author Sky Curtis who served as my mentor and encouraged me to keep going my family my friend and donor whose name I will keep private.
Once you have effectively addressed this major source of the underlying inflammation and the bowel has healed then you are effectively cured. This treatment protocol runs contrary to what the vast majority of doctors are currently doing in the United States to treat this illness.
